H.pylori, short for Helicobacter pylori, is a type of bacteria that infect the stomach and the upper part of the small intestine.

H.pylori  causes various gastrointestinal problems:

• Gastritis: Inflammation of the stomach lining.
• Peptic ulcers: Open sores that develop on the inside lining of the stomach and the upper portion of the small intestine.
• Duodenal ulcers: Ulcers that occur in the upper part of the small intestine.
• Stomach cancer: Long-term infection with H. pylori can lead to an increased risk of developing certain types of stomach cancer.

What causes H. pylori infections?

The infections spread from one person’s mouth to another such as through kissing.

Through contact with vomit or stool. This can happen when a person does not wash their hands thoroughly after using the bathroom.

Also spread through contact with contaminated water or food.

Treatment:

H.pylori infection treatment typically involves a combination of antibiotics and a proton-pump inhibitor (a drug that reduces your stomach acid) for up to 14 days.

This treatment is sometimes referred to as triple therapy.

Laekit contains Levofloxacin 500mg, Amoxicillin 1000mg and Esomeprazole 40mg.

Laekit h-pylori kit  is used for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(H.Pylori).

This kit contains one tablet of Esomeprazole 40mg, one tablet of Levofloxacin 500mg and two tablets of Amoxicillin 500mg.

Esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid released into your stomach hence relieves symptoms such as heartburn.

Levofloxacin stops the growth of h.pylori and prevent the disease progress hence achieving faster healing. Amoxicillin treats the stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H.pylori and prevents the ulcers from returning after treatment.
