Rizact /rizatriptan belongs to a group of medicines called selective serotonin 5-HT receptor agonist used to treat migraine with or without an aura. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain, thereby provides relief from migraine headache. Rizact 10 Tablet 4’s helps in decreasing the substances in the body, which can trigger headache pain, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and other migraine symptoms.
Direction for use:
Single doses of 5mg and10mg.Redosing: Doses should be separated by at least 2 hours; no more than 30mg should be taken in any 24 hours’ period.
Drug-Drug Interactions:
Rizact may have interaction with anti-depressant like duloxetine, fluoxetine, sertraline, escitalopram, venlafaxine, pain killers (acetaminophen+hydrocodone), anti-emetic (ondansetron), 5-HT agonist (sumatriptan, zolmitriptan.
Safety Advice
AlcohoL -consumption of alcohol while taking Rizact increases drowsiness.
Pregnancy-Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant Your doctor will prescribe rizatriptan only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Breast Feeding-Breastfeeding should be avoided for 24hours after the treatment.
Driving-may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery.
Liver-should not be taken if you have severe liver problems.
Kidney- should not be taken if you have severe kidney problems.
