Dosage & administration

For external use only

The recommended dosage of minoxin (minoxidil topical solution usp) 2% and plus 5% is 1ml twice daily, once in the morning and once at night.

Six pushes of the applicator release 1ml of minoxin (Minoxidil topical solution usp)

NOTE

Apply minoxin when the hair and scalp are thoroughly dry

Massage into the scalp gently with your fingers begging at the Centre of the affected area.

The dose should be used regardless of the size of the affected area.

The total daily dose should not exceed 2ml.

Duration of usage

People who respond to treatment will need to continue using minoxin to maintain or increase hair growth.

If there is no response to treatment after a reasonable period of time i.e 4 or more months, it is advisable to discontinue using minoxin.

If response of treatment with minoxin is good continue the usage, because if the treatment is stopped the new hair will probably shed.

Side effects

The most commonly reported side effects are itching and other skin irritation of the scalp.

With the recommended doses (1 ml twice daily) no untoward effects are seen
