What mucosolvan is and what it is used for

Mucosolvan is a medicine for loosening mucus in respiratory diseases with thick mucus (expectorant).

Mucosolvan is used as treatment to loosen mucus in acute and chronic diseases of the bronchial tubes and lungs with thick mucus.

How to take mucosolvan

Daily recommended dose:

Children up to 2 years of age:

2.5ml solution is taken twice daily (equivalent to 15mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)

Children aged 2 to 5 years:

2.5ml solution is taken 3 times daily (equivalent to 22.5mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)

Children aged 6 to 12 years:

5ml solution is taken 2-3 times daily (equivalent to 30-45mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day).

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older:

In general, 10ml solution is taken 3 times daily (equivalent to 90mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day) for the first 2-3 days, after which 10ml solution twice daily (equivalent to 60mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day) is taken.

Regarding the dosage for adults and adolescent aged 12 years and older, it is possible to increase its effectiveness, if necessary, by administering 20ml solution twice daily (equivalent to 120mg ambroxol hydrochloride/day)

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older are recommended to take the higher-strength mucosolvan syrup 30mg/5ml.

Appropriate precautions for use: special warnings:

Pregnancy-ambroxol reaches the unborn child. during pregnancy, you should not take this medicine, especially during the first 3 months.

Breast-feeding-passes into breast milk. use during breast-feeding is not recommended.
