Formoteral and budesonide inhaler (foracort) is a combination medication containing a corticosteroid and a long acting beta 2-adrenergic agonist used for the treatment of asthma in patients 12 years of age and maintenance of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Emphysema – a lung disease that results from damage to the walls of the alveoli in your lungs.

Active ingredients

The active ingredients contained in foracort inhaler are formoteral fumarate and budesonide

Each actuation of foracort 200 inhaler contains formoteral fumarate dehydrate IP 6mcg and budesonide IP 200mcg

Uses of foracort inhaler

Foracort inhaler is used to control and prevent symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma or ongoing lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

It contains two medication: budesonide and formoteral

Formoterol – a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) that helps relax the muscles in the airways, making breathing easier.

Budesonide – an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that reduces inflammation in the airways, helping to prevent asthma symptoms.
